North Lido Beach and South Lido Beach offer natural beauty and seclusion while condos, hotels, restaurants, upscale shopping, and Lido’s public beach are central to Lido Key. This little island renders something for everyone.

John Ringling had purchased Lido Key Island with plans for a major tourist attraction. Although the reality did not arrive within his lifetime, Lido Key and St. Armand’s Circle maintain world-class status featuring elegant shops, and award winning restaurants.

The Lido Key Island is linked with bridges to the mainland of Sarasota as well as Bird Key and the Island of Longboat Key. North Lido Beach is a pristine half-mile stretch of sand accented by towering Australian pines. Perfect for walking, this beach is the least populated and spans an area behind a residential community.

Perhaps you prefer people watching, making new friends and enjoying the beach scene. Mid-key, Lido’s public beach supports a swimming pool, playground, concession stand and shops. Lifeguards are on duty all year-round.

South Lido Park is at the southern end of Lido Key. You’ll find 100 acres of Australian pines and shoreline along Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Picnic tables, grills, a volleyball court and playground are perfect for a family outing. Nature lovers will appreciate the wooden walkways and trails offering glimpses of spoonbills, osprey stilts and more. Those with kayaks and canoes will have the ability to travel the waterways through forests of mangroves where shore birds raise their young.

Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium located at the north end of Lido Key is a world-renowned marine research center. The aquarium offers a fascinating array of sea life with a 30-foot Touch Tank and 135,000-gallon Shark tank bringing visitors face to face with a variety of shark species, fish and other marine life.

Evening entertainment on Lido Key is only a short stroll away at St. Armand’s Circle. A circular park dedicated to the memory of John Ringling, is flanked by sophisticated restaurants, nightclubs, exclusive shops and exotic boutiques.
