If you thought about selling your house this year, now more than ever may be the time to do it! The inventory of homes for sale is well below historic norms and buyer demand is skyrocketing. We were still in high school when we learned about the concept of supply and demand, so we understand that the best time to sell something is when the supply of that item is low and demand for that item is high. That defines today’s real estate market.

Hello,\r\nMy husband and I moved to Venice, FL. primarily to help my sister who had lost her roommate. I just lost my husband, unexpectedly at the age of 67. I am not even sure if I will stay in FL, though I have some family nearby (Bradenton, Venice), and a sister in St. Augustine.\r\n\r\nI just got hired by Bed Bath & Beyond in Gulf Estates for a cashier position. I worked at Target in Venice, as a part time seasonal cashier last year. I am originally from Cincinnati, OH. I do not understand this seasonal job situation. You get hired and then everyone gets laid off when the snowbirds go back North. \r\n\r\nI just visited the D.R. Horton community on Bay Street, just off of US 41. I love the Osprey model. It is a 2 bedroom, 2 Bath with Den, consisting of 1574 SF. It is running around 2-300K. I loved it. After talking with the real estate agent, she told me that the monthly HOA fee of $320, included paying for water, sewage, lawn maintenance, swimming pool and fitness area. With most folks around here, the average monthly water bill is $100.00. My sister and I rent from our other sister who lives in Bradenton. We pay $1050/mo. I have 2 lab/mix dogs, but I think that dogs are allowed in this community. I will not go anywhere without my dogs. So now I am still applying to jobs, hoping that something will last more than just seasonal. The manager at Bed, Bath & Beyond told me that my position is part time year round. We will see. I also toured Meritage Homes in S.W. Venice, (Renaissance) just across from Florida State (Venice Campus) in Northport. These properties run in the $3-400K range, but they are not all cookie cutter homes. The homes are nice down there as well, Also they are more reasonably priced. I found a dog park in North Port just around the street of Pan America, that would work well for us.
